About TypeFlow

Hey there! 👋 I'm Nic, a software developer and video editor. I built TypeFlow after running into the same problem too many times - needing a simple typing animation and realising there was no quick way to make one.

Problems faced

Typing animations are surprisingly hard to do well

Most video editors, even professional ones like Premiere, don't have a built-in way to create realistic typing animations. You're left with either using basic text reveal effects, or having to dive deep into animating keyframes.

Real typing has natural variance

When you type, there's subtle randomness; slight pauses, varying speeds between characters, natural rhythm. Replicating this manually means adjusting the timing of every single keyframe. Some editors let you use expressions or formulas, but that's expert-level territory.

Finding typing sounds that actually match

A good typing animation often needs sound. But finding keystroke audio that syncs perfectly with your on-screen typing? You often end up manually cutting and placing individual keystrokes, or settling for something that doesn't quite fit.

You do not have to be a motion graphics expert

You shouldn't have to spend thirty minutes wrestling with keyframes for something so common.

TypeFlow handles the complexity behind the scenes, the natural timing variance, the cursor behavior, perfectly synced keystroke sounds. You just enter your text, customise the design, and export.

Record it yourself for more control

TypeFlow also has a record mode where you can capture your actual typing, including backspaces, pauses, and corrections. This gives you complete control over the animation timing.

What's next?

TypeFlow is just getting started. If there's something you'd love to see, I'm always open to feedback!

See how TypeFlow works for yourself.
